Fall 2019 Open Show Rules
1. Entry Deadline is September 30th, 2019. Please assure entries are in by this date to allow time to prepare. Entries received after this date will be accepted until October 5th with a $1 late registration fee per bird..
2. Birds will be accepted in the showroom on Thursday, October 10th from 3PM to 9PM and Friday, October 11th from 7:00AM to 8:30 AM.
3. Judging will start at 9:00AM, Friday, October 11th, 2019.
4. Open show birds will be judged by the latest APA and ABA Standards. Backyard birds will be judged on condition.
5. Make sure you state on your entry form whether entries are LARGE FOWL or BANTAM and whether NON-BEARDED
or BEARDED, SINGLE or ROSECOMB.
6. Large Fowl awards will consist of Champion and Reserve Large Fowl, and class champions. Bantam fowl class awards will consist of Champion & Reserve Bantams and class champions. Waterfowl awards will consist of champion and reserve champion. A best and reserve of show will also be chosen. Juniors Awards will be Champion, 1st and 2nd Reserve Large Fowl and Champion and 1st and 2nd Reserve Bantam. Backyard will be Champion and Reserve. At least 5 birds from 2 exhibitors need to be present in a class in order to receive awards.
7. No one will be allowed in the aisles during judging.
8. Cage tags are to be removed ONLY by exhibitors whose birds are in the cage.
9. All birds must have NUMBERED LEG OR WING BANDS. Leg band numbers are not required until coop in. Please write your band number on front and back of coop cards.
10. All birds are entered at the OWNERS RISK. The UFPA, its officers or members will not be responsible for any
damage, accident, loss or death of any entry during the show.
11. Any bird showing evidence of disease or sickness will be placed in isolation & returned to owner.
12. No one will be allowed to handle the birds except the judge, show committee or its owners.
13. Advertising or placing signs on the exhibition coops or placing of birds in auction will not be permitted until after the judging is completed.
14. Entry forms have been provided in the newsletter and are also available on our website under “Show Information”.
15. Coop out will be after the Coloring Contest judging Saturday. NO EXCEPTIONS. After, we will be taking down the showroom. Any help is appreciated. If birds are left after coop out they may be boxed up in extra boxes and left for exhibitor to retrieve.
16. All open show entries must be recognized in the latest ABA-APA Standards. All other non standard entries will be judged but will not place better than best of variety.
17. The UFPA will not accept responsibility for birds shipped from out of state.
18. Exhibitors will be responsible for feeding and watering his/her birds. Scratch furnished by IFA.
19. Only pairs and trios will be accepted in the auction. All birds must be of potential SHOW QUALITY.
20. Birds cannot be removed from show building without permission of Show Superintendent.
21. Once birds are entered into cages they cannot be removed from cage except to hand groom or clean birds or pen.
22. No skirting of cages with any material, except clear plastic to prevent fighting.
23. Carrying cages can be stored underneath show cages as long as aisles are kept clean and clear.
24. Parking lot sales are against venue policy and are not allowed.
25. The UFPA does NOT support any illegal actions or inhumane use of poultry.
26. All exhibitors must follow the Legacy Events Center Rules.
